Celebrating Caregivers Who Work to Make Lives Happier
What is National Skilled Nursing Week?
This special week honoring caregivers across the country was originally known by a different name. Before last year, it was celebrated as National Nursing Home Week. The name was changed to reflect the increasingly complex medical care provided in facilities and the variety of ways people receive long-term or short-term care. This weeklong celebration has been happening since 1967! It is sponsored by the American Health Care Association and recognizes the role of skilled nursing care centers providing the necessary care and treatment for America’s elderly and others with disabilities.
Mount Hope Nursing Center is excited to participate in National Skilled Nursing Care Week from May 12-18, 2019.
The theme to this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week is “Live Soulfully.” Established as an annual, week-long observance by the American Health Care Association (AHCA), this week provides an opportunity to recognize the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. AHCA will be celebrating skilled nursing centers, and their residents and staff, by showcasing how they achieve happy minds and healthy souls. You can find out more about the organization on the American Health Care Association’s website, and you can learn about this weeklong celebration at www.nnha.org as well as by following its Facebook page.
